What A Christmas Tree Means

“I am not alone at all, I thought. I was never alone at all. And that, of course, is the message of Christmas. We are never alone. Not when the night is darkest, the wind coldest, the world seemingly most indifferent. For this is still the time God chooses.” – Taylor Caldwell

While I’m not the most devout Christian or believer in the commercialism of St. Nick’s holiday, I do believe that there is something special about this time of year. Whether it is the gathering of family and friends, the pageantry, or an overview of the past 365, Christmas makes for an interesting day. The aforementioned Christmas Tree is only the primary step…

The tree itself is up. However, it is bare: no lights, tassels, or twinkling ambience. That should be rectified by the end of the day. I make no promises though; a lazy day proclaimed. Regardless, the holiday approaches.

Since I haven’t put it on paper, I am so thankful for what I do have. A home, job, family, close friends, supportive co-workers, and a glimmering hope. A happy conclusion to 2013.

That’s all I’ve got.

Happy Holidays!

Bye for now, KS.
